Autumn Lorraine:
Where science is concerned, Autumn is what you’d call an early adopter. She was just 4 when she started
analyzing bugs and tuning in to Bill Nye the Science Guy. Twelve years into her career as a scientist, Autumn
started passing that passion on to the next generation of young explorers. She’s writing books meant to get
grade-schoolers thinking about careers in science. Astrophysicist Akimie, the first in the collection, is
available on Amazon. Astrobiologist Aurora is due out this Summer and Scientist Sydney is currently
being edited.

Amy Ballard Rich:
Amy Ballard Rich is a University of Oregon alumni, and also received a poetry certificate from Berkeley City College. She was raised in Lane County, but left to find work in the San Francisco Bay Area, for many years. After working with children for decades, ending with a fairly long career as a Montessori preschool teacher, Amy retired early and moved back to Lane County. She has been published in various literary journals, including Milvia Street Art and Literary Journal, Penumbra Art and Literary Journal, Suisun Valley Review, and Calliope Magazine. As a long-time activist, she was delighted to be published twice in Everyday Feminism, an online social justice magazine. When not writing, Amy can be found editing for other writers, protesting in the streets, jogging through forests near oceans, and hugging trees.
