Steven dancing on American Bandstand in 1966 at age 16 - clip 1

This is a clip of me dancing on American Bandstand, with host Dick Clark.

The airdate was: June 18, 1966

This clip is me in the spotlight dance, which featured four couples dancing by themselves.
We are dancing to the song, "You Wouldn’t Listen" by The Ides of March.

I am in a sweater vest and light, long-sleeved shirt. My dance partner, Judy, is in a white and dark patterned dress.
We are all introduced at the end of the song: Judy Baker, 16 years old / Steve Schreiner, 16 years old,
And my friend . . . Frank Van Der Puil, 16 years old.

Note: Frank was the one who first got me on American Bandstand
when I was still at Blair High School in Pasadena, before moving to Hollywood. Frank was very popular on the show.
When I went to my high school reunion many years later, I found out that he had passed away very young.

My dance partner, Judy Baker, lived in Echo Park and was a good friend from my days dancing in Pasadena, where I grew up,
at Dewald's Ballroom, Saturday Night Dance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
I would often invite her to be my dance partner on American Bandstand and Shebang.
