Steven dancing on American Bandstand in 1966 at age 16 - clip 2
This is a clip of me dancing on American Bandstand, with host Dick Clark.
The airdate was: Feb. 12, 1966.
This clip is me with my dance partner, Debby Heywood, dancing to the song, "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" by Nancy Sinatra.
I am in a light colored sweater, with a white shirt, dark tie and black pants.
Debby is in a dark colored top and skirt. She has a teased bob style haircut, which was very popular in the '60s.
We can be seen clearly in the video starting at 28 seconds into the video, at 0:28" to about 0:55"
Debby was my first love! I tried to get her on as my dance partner whenever I could, as she was my dance partner in life.
We met at It's Boss, the teenage nightclub on the Sunset Strip where I was the DJ and doorman,
spinning my 45s between the sets of the house band.
I went to Hollywood High School and Debby went to North Hollywood High.
I would cut 6th period almost every day and hitch-hike through Laurel Canyon to meet her after school.
(She is the subject of chapter 1 in my book, Heartbreak Kid).
