Steven dancing on American Bandstand in 1966 at age 16 - clip 5
This is a clip of me dancing on American Bandstand, with host Dick Clark.
The airdate was: February 5, 1966.
This clip is me with my dance partner, Judy Baker, dancing to the Rate a Record songs:
"Children & Flowers" by The Critters and "It’s A Day" by The Druids.
My friend, Sam Taglaviore, is doing the Rate A Record. He also was a regular dancer on Shebang.
I am wearing my "signature" dark polka-dot shirt under a sweater vest. Judy is in a shiny patterned dress with bell half-sleeves.
We can be seen a lot in this video, starting at 1:52" / then really good at 3:32" / and really good again at 4:03"
where I actually cracked a smile! I never smiled much when I was dancing. I was always so serious...lol
We can be seen again at 5:26" / Right after that, my friend, Frank Van Der Puil can be seen twirling Pat Ready and laughing.
Pat was also my dance partner sometimes and Frank is the one who originally got me on the show my first time.
My dance partner, Judy Baker, lived in Echo Park and was a good friend from my days dancing in Pasadena, where I grew up,
at Dewald's Ballroom, Saturday Night Dance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
I would often invite her to be my dance partner on American Bandstand and Shebang.
