Jennifer Rood:
Jennifer Rood teaches English at a small, alternative high school in Southern Oregon. There, she reads a poem each day to her students and encourages them to write and publish their own work. She has worked to create a very special poetry culture there, where you might find students workshopping poems at lunch in her classroom, and where it is not unusual for students to read their work at school assemblies!  She can't be away from poetry for too long without needing to immerse herself in it again. Her work has appeared in Verseweavers, Slant, Snapdragon, and elsewhere, including the anthology Moments Before Midnight.

​​Lysander Selvig:
Lysander Selvig is a freshman at the University of Oregon.  He has an unpublished collection of poems called Dear Writer, and was chosen by his peers to read his poetry at high school at assemblies during the past two years.
