Laura Romeyn:
Though Laura Romeyn has written personal short memoir pieces and poetry for decades, she did not feel the "publishing urge" until she began to write Breathing Spirit: prayers for the emotional and frequently frantic but often grateful. Birthed during traumatic events that drove her to seek solace in Spirit, she is gratified by readers' comments that they feel touched and supported by her prayer poetry.
As a special education teacher in Eugene, Oregon schools for 21 years, Laura delighted in helping her students find the "Writer" within themselves. It was therefore almost inevitable
that she includes an Afterword in Breathing Spirit offering ideas for letting one's own spirit shine onto the written page. Her belief that any emotion can be a vehicle for drawing near to
one's Source permeates her writing.
Laura also enjoys "breathing Spirit" through yoga, dance, painting, playing with her grandchildren, encounters in international travel, and surrounding herself with the life-affirming elements of nature.

Wayne Westfall:
Born in New York, Wayne Westfall graduated from the University of California, Berkley in 1964 with a BS in Civil Engineering. After a 34 year career as a Civil Engineer in California and Oregon, he looks back at a rewarding career, mostly with the City of Los Angeles and City of Eugene, as designer and plan reviewer of public works projects such as streets, sewers and storm drains. Among other things, his Oregon lifestyle has allowed opportunity for creating a sizable log of mountains climbed in Oregon and Washington; for enjoying many camping, hunting and fishing adventures; for raising two children with his wife of 52 years; and for spending hundreds of hours searching for words that rhyme.
