The Festival Of Eugene on Friday and Saturday was an awesome experience. I am proud and pleased to have been able to bring Eugene's Poetry community to the event and have us represented; with awesome renowned poets and the young poets I have recently been hanging with. I call us "The Young Poets Of Eugene" because: We are a tribe. We are not all young, but we are all young at heart, with the youthful exuberance of enthusiam and inspiration shining through in our words. We are young, we are old. We are wise, we are foolish. We are soft and fuzzy and we are hard as nails . . . just like you! We are all here to present our poetry . . . to you. And, once we do . . . then it becomes yours . . . to feel . . . and to do with as you will. We are . . . The Young Poets Of Eugene. My thanks to all the poets who participated and helped out. I would like to add a special thank you to Candace Perkins & Andrew Gonzalez for their invaluable help in setting up and keeping the poetry tent happening and vibrant. I could not have done it without you. Here we are . . . having an awesome two days at the festival in Skinner Butte Park. Hangin' & readin' with: C. Steven Blue (Steven C. Schreiner), Austin Crabtree, Jeremy Jeremy Lee Cook, Phil Crowe, Karen Dalyea, Joan Dobbie, Andrew Gonzalez, Michael Hess, Jon Labrousse, Carter McKenzie, James Otter, Candace Renee Perkins, Ralph Salisbury, Roy Roy R. Seitz, Ingrid Wendt, "Izzy" Whetstine, Joshua Wright "Porcupine." And there in spirit but nursing an awful cold, Laura LeHew.
