Hi Everyone,

The September Poetry Event for the Eugene, Oregon
150th  Birthday Celebration is well under way. We had 30 poets submit over 65 poems for  consideration in the celebration chapbook. The panel is in the process of  selection now and the publishers are busy working on the book design. If you submitted work, you will be
notified very  soon of the results. The event will take place at the Eugene Public Library on  Saturday, September 29th, from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. The event will include the  reading of the celebration chapbook poems by their
authors in the first two  hours. The third hour will be an open mic reading. Signup at the door for the  open mic starting at 2:00 P.M. We hope to see you all there.

The July 14th Poetry Workshop and July 21st Poetry Showcase & Open Mic were very successful and everyone said how entertaining the events were and how much they enjoyed being there. The library was very pleased and has asked us back for next year.

I would like to extend a personal and very big  thank you to all who participated and helped out. You made these events memorable. Speaking of that, I am in the process of creating a four DVD set of the July 21st Showcase for the library to lend. It includes all four hours of the event plus copies of some of the artwork with haikus by Eugene artist Susan Klein that were hanging on the walls. And... it will also have copies of the sketches done live of the poets as they were reading and performing, done by local Eugene artist Ellen Gabehart.

The videos of the showcase event are now posted on YouTube for you to enjoy. They are in four  parts, corresponding with each hour:

Hour 1 - Literary / Traditional Poets ...
